At the first Candidate Forum and at council meetings I have heard Mayor Matthews and Pat Kolstad inform the public that City Council and staff, employees cannot even accept a cup of coffee from anyone.

How then are contribution to campaigns of Caserta, Matthews and Kolstad different? Over $15,000 dollars has been given to these candidates from people who work for the 49ers, and even more than that has come their way from developers; like Summerhill, Devcon, Citation Homes and countless real estate agents. To me, these contributions to their campaign are just a bigger cup of coffee with ‘sweet’ promises attached. The candidates with true grassroots support will be getting my vote: Bress, Hardy & Park. It’s time to vote for anyone who has no ties to Developers or 49ers. We need independent voices in Council to hear our concerns not theirs.
