A federal court judge in California has ruled that Google disappeared internal messages to cover their tracks and impede the legal discovery process in an anti-monopoly case against the company. (“Google tried to ‘subvert’ court process,’” Mercury News, 3-29-23) This kind of corporate misbehavior is characteristic of a class-based system of hardball politics that has been around since it first got public attention in the signing of Magna Carta in 1215. The aristocratic class in England were exercising monopoly economic privileges that disrupted all phases of social, economic, and political life in the nation. Google has allegedly been blocking Android users from other app distribution platforms other than their own Google Play store. The judge found Google to be “not truthful,” which is the legalese way of saying top company brass lied like a rug, and their pants were on fire.

Santa Clara is the ONLY city in the entire State of California to have an elected Chief of Police. I contend that Santa Clarans don’t actually have a choice in selecting their Chief of Police.
