I’m outraged that the Superintendent and members be given a raise to incentivize them to perform. Goals should be set for them and if the goals aren’t met fire them. If they meet the goals then consider a raise.

Santa Clara is the ONLY city in the entire State of California to have an elected Chief of Police. I contend that Santa Clarans don’t actually have a choice in selecting their Chief of Police.
