I watched the Chamber of Commerce’s Political Action Committee (PAC) interviews with those City Council candidates that accepted their invitation. For me, it was informative and I greatly appreciated the candidate comments and the thoughtful questions they were asked. But, one candidate stood out to me, and that was Lisa Gillmor. She is an unopposed incumbent candidate for Seat 6. She did not have to accept the PAC’s invitation, but she did. She is going to be re-elected no matter what she does. So, leaving her place of business to participate in this process is, to me, an exceptional effort to show her support for the city that she must certainly love. I haven’t agreed with all the decisions she has made, but my respect for her is even greater now.
