While we don’t know who will be playing in the Super Bowl at Santa Clara’s Levi’s Stadium, we do know which performer will headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show. This weekend, it was revealed that Puerto Rican rapper and singer Bad Bunny will headline the Apple Music Halftime show.
“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself,” Bad Bunny said in a statement. “It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown … this is for my people, my culture and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.”
The announcement was made during halftime of “Sunday Night Football” on NBC on Sept. 28. Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, is a global superstar known for his Spanish-language raps.
“We are incredibly excited about the NFL’s announcement of Bad Bunny, one of the most awarded and celebrated artists of the last decade, as the headliner for the Super Bowl LX Halftime Show,” said Zaileen Janmohamed, president and CEO of the Bay Area Host Committee (BAHC). “The Super Bowl Halftime Show is one of the most anticipated and iconic musical performances in the world, and we are confident that Bad Bunny will deliver an unforgettable experience for fans in Levi’s Stadium and watching globally.”
Bad Bunny’s most recent album, “Debí Tirar Más Fotos” (“I Should Have Taken More Photos”), was released in January and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
He most recently performed in the Bay Area on March 1 and 2, 2024 at the Chase Center in San Francisco as part of his 2024 Most Wanted Tour. He also played a sold out show at the Oakland Coliseum on Sept. 14, 2022.
Super Bowl LX will take place on Feb. 8, 2026 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. It will be broadcast on NBC and Peacock.
